The Importance of Being Different and Letting People Know About it
Guest Post by Irene Watson
I just returned last week from being in Canada for 10 days. The highlight of the trip was attending our granddaughter’s book launch. Now, this wasn’t just any book launch – she just turned 17 and is now a published author. Am I proud? You bet I am! She wrote a book for teens Words of a Journey: My thoughts on life and living. If you have a teen in your midst, this will make a wonderful gift. It’s a book written by a teen for a teen.
So, where else am I going with this editorial? To a place of not knowing what to write. I’ve been slam-dunked with work in trying to catch up on what I missed during the 10 days being away. I was going to rant about some authors/publicists expecting us to do work for them without being paid but decided it was pointless because these people see life as a one way street. So…my thoughts are to give you a peek at some videos that I’ve collected links on over time. Do take the time to listen/watch each one.
“The The Impotence of Proofreading” by Taylor Mali. (Did you notice the misspelling in the title? Spell check didn’t catch it but did you?)
“Different” by Youngme Moon (When watching this video replace the word “business” with “book.”)
You had no idea this was a book video, did you? When we talk about a “hook” this is a great example of one. What is your “hook” like? You can purchase this book if you want more info.
“How to generate massive Traffic with Twitter and Youtube – Organic PR Buzz with smart technologies” (This is one of the better videos explaining the process.)
If you have any comments about these videos I’d sure like to hear from you. Remember…posting a comment gives you a backlink.
